Fashion Trends 2009: Top Breath-taking Trends up to Christmas Holidays

On Trend: Over the past 12 months some trends which emerged over the past few seasons have intensified: sequins as daywear; optical prints; the Eighties; and super-sized shoulders were all taken to a new level over the last year.

Other trends have been more surprising: the reappearance of denim – not just in jeans – as a wardrobe staple; wedge and over-the-knee boots as the winter must-have and mono-kinis? Colours like teal, nude and violet took centre stage and familiar fabrics like leather, velvet and sheerest chiffon were given a new edge.

So whilst you relax over the Christmas holidays use the time to swat up on the season’s trends, if only to make sure you spend your money wisely in the January sales. Editing by Carina
